Spring Showers and Style

Seems like much of the United States is receiving heavy rainfall this week. Are raindrops falling where you're at? Rain makes me want to curl up and huddle down most of the time, but occasionally, it's still fun to run around town --- provided you have the right gear. Here's a little OOTD inspired by beautiful raindrops while remaining dry and comfortable when you're out.

Colorado Rain

You may be as inundated with news of Colorado, as we were with rain and its aftermath. I live here on the Colorado front range with my husband and dog. Our dog, Ayer (pronounced eye-er), is currently my only coworker (i.e. she taps naps at my feet and tells me when it's time to take a play break). She's lovely to have around!

This week, with the seemingly endless rain, made for perfect lighting conditions for new jewelry photos. I was making lemonade out of lemons!  Ayer, on the other hand, was in a constant state of pouting. If I could have stopped the rain for her, I would have. On Thursday, arguably the rainiest day, Ayer huffed, puffed, sighed, and pouted from 9am-5pm. Tragic! I gathered new photographs of jewelry because the lighting was so diffuse and perfect. Of all the photographs I took that day, this was speaks mounds:

Laying at the back door with her toys, but not wanting to get wet.

Rest assured, brighter days are here for us (at least where we live)! Ayer's playing in the yard again, soaking up the last summer sunshine. I'm developing new pieces in the studio. My heart goes out to those in Colorado who aren't feeling as safe right now. In the mountains and foothills, it is a true state of emergency. I pray for their safety and well-being.
