On Creating: Maternity Photos in Colorado

I've been creating a lot more than jewelry lately. I'm 34 weeks into my first pregnancy. Last night, I took some photographs of us at one of our favorite places to hike here in Colorado. My father's a photographer, and I've been learning from him over the years. I put those years of knowledge to the test and directed and shot most of these pictures. It captures a special time and place for us.

We can't wait to meet our son soon. I know he'll accompany us on lots of adventures. Below are some favorites from maternity photo shoot.

Capturing a quiet moment together. I think pregnancy photos are necessary! What a short and special time.

These will be a joy to look back at together over the years. What a miracle.

You're Invited to the Studio

Want to see what's been going on here in the studio this week? My husband built this custom workbench last weekend and I've been loving it ever since. Pictured below are the chevron necklace pieces I'm working on finishing up to enamel on later today.

In the next couple weeks I'll be revealing the transformation of my studio from a place with no walls, insulation, ceiling, lights, to a place where I LOVE spending creative time.

What do you look for in a creative space? I have to have light. It's #1 in my creative world. Even before heating/cooling. Working with color (enamel and oil painting), having ample natural daylight is critical. It also ensures I feel closer to the natural world. Thanks, windows!
