Simple inspiration: What's inspiring my artwork and jewelry

Do you ever just have to stop and snap a quick picture? Thank goodness for our phones these days. Inspiration lingers every where. Here's a few glimpses of colors, textures, and patterns that snagged my eye and heart this week:

I can't wait to see how these inspire new work!

Live in Color & Explore New Experiences

I believe in living life colorfully and I hope you do too! I love encouraging others to express with vibrancy. As an artist, my primary work centers around color. Nature, travel, and experiences fill my well of inspiration. What makes your soul leap? Is it adventure? Sand and surf? Sunsets? Maybe it's sharing the company of loved ones? All of these make me feel alive. I've collected some of photos from my adventures at home and on vacation to share. These images give you a glimpse into how I see the world: full of possibilities and beauty, large and small. Many of these experiences were taken alongside my husband, who I'm thankful to share adventures with.

Coming from a background as an artist, I feel pictures sometimes tell a story in a more personal way. Which place/picture do you connect with most here? A sunset over the mountain range? A glass of wine and conversation? Or is it the Sea! I like to share a photo a day with you so you can get a sneak peek into what inspires my work.

I have two favorite places on earth... where the water is turquoise blue and where the mountains touch the sky. I long to travel more. Traveling and experiencing life always transforms my artwork. The latest series I created was inspired from my trip to St. Croix. This vacation came just in time for me over a year ago, when I needed a restorative break. That getaway full of sun and surf informed my later decision to pursue art full-time. The waves on the beach gave me the perspective to follow my dream and begin sharing my work. What if that vacation didn't happen? I'd certainly not be the person I am today. In tandem with some life-lessons from my late mother-in-law, that trip reminded me not to wait for things to happen. We're each in charge of choosing things that give value, meaning, and joy in our lives. I'm hoping to be chosen as the Ultimate Funjetter - and have travel fill my creative sails again. And I want to share that journey with you to encourage your own adventure!

Delicate Details in Nature: A Quiet Lesson of Inspiration & Gratitude

Allowing yourself to see and appreciate the small beauties and details can make a great difference in your daily outlook. Today, witnessing the patterns of frost helped me pause in awe and gratitude. What wonder.

Even though, like many of you, I feel ready for spring, it was nice to not wish away this gift of time. It felt fulfilling to allow a simple pattern in nature to fill my reservoir with inspiration. Nature reflects the ultimate creator's work and it reminds me of the limitless possibilities of shapes, colors, patterns, and textures that we can bring to existence in our own artistic creations.

Today as I enter the studio, I come with a sense of purpose and readiness to explore new design possibilities. I'm not here to wish away time (I wish it were spring. I wish it were the weekend. Etc.), I'm alive and choosing to live this day.

Let your imagination and inspiration be filled today and overtime. Whether it's the pattern of frost (as it was for me today), the colors of new fashion lines, a song, movement, smell, or  architecture... we're always surrounded by the potential for a change in feeling and perspective. Be mindful and discover something new in the ordinary today.

I'm curious, what thing inspired you most today? Or where did you feel gratitude? Hope your day is filled with the joy of being alive.

Inspiration of the Week : Color, Mountains, and Perspective

Much of my inspiration comes from the constantly changing display of colors in Colorado. On my drive home, I had to pull over to admire the view. The mountain sunset sky was perfectly doubled in its roadside lake reflection. Soft blue transitions to peach and into the darker outline of mountains and land.

Sometimes a little perspective change enhances everything.

I had to snap a few photographs for the landscape before continuing the journey home. Do you ever have to stop and give time for truly taking things in? I love a good slow moment. Here it was an amplified world of pastel. Definitely has me inspired to create my own reflections of that beauty in the upcoming jewelry I create.

Color My Mornings: Soulful Self-care

There's something about the energy of a new day that feels fresh and full of possibilities. I do believe things are better in the morning. Today I ran out (in my pajamas, mind you) when I noticed the world was illuminated with rose light. I was so thankful to see the mountains waking up. The warm sunlight rolled out and reached the highest peaks before stretching the entire mountain range. Usually people face East to catch the sunrise... today, I found beauty in looking West, seeing the way the sun greeted the landscape.

This sight was a reset for my soul. Total gratitude and peace in that moment. I always do my best creative work when I slow down and get grounded in awe and nature. Look at those colors! Who wouldn't feel inspired?

How do you recenter yourself? Are you a nature-needer? Treat yourself to a massage? Manicure? Yoga? I hope whatever it is, you're making space to take care of you.

Be well,

Lynsey
